Attention Boaters!

Oak Canyon YSA Ward is looking for generous boaters who are willing and able to join us for a boating activity at Deer Creek on Saturday June 29.  Please contact Mark or Thaylene Rogers or Lincoln or Lisa Jacobs if you can help with this activity.  You’ll have a great time!

MONDAY MEMO June 10 - 15

Good Morning dear Sisters!

I have always loved hearing men's voices singing - a little Josh Groban, Harry Connick Jr, even some Bar J Wranglers. The sound I heard at last night's Stake Priesthood Meeting gave me more chills than Michael Buble can. I was filled with awe and gratitude for the strong, faithful and powerful men that surround us in this stake. As they sang the chorus of "Hope of Israel"  ....rise in might, with the sword of truth and right, I felt assured of the sacred trust these men hold to honor, protect and defend women and children and families.

This coming weekend we have the opportunity to honor the good men in our lives. Let's make sure they know of our love and appreciation for the many ways they honor their priesthood. 

I hope you are enjoying your summer, and that your gardens are growing and your air conditioners are in good working condition!

• Saturday - Fun run begins at 7:00 AM.
• Opening Keynote Speaker begins at 10:00  AM.
• Events are scheduled throughout the day.
• Sunday - Impromptu Choir 6:00 PM,  Fireside at 7:00 PM
• There will be awesome entertainment on Friday and Saturday evenings and outstanding keynote speakers and presenters for the workshops on Saturday and Sunday.  This will be a wonderful weekend activity that you don't want to miss!

Good Morning dear Sisters!

In our Proverbs 31 woman lesson yesterday I shared a quote from Sister Nadauld's conference talk called "The Joy of Womanhood." I learned yesterday that the quote I used was added to her talk at the last minute because she needed to fill more of her time. Isn't it interesting that that quote is the part of the talk we all remember? Here it is again:

Women of God can never be like women of the world. The world has enough women who are tough; we need women who are tender. There are enough women who are coarse; we need women who are kind. There are enough women who are rude; we need women who are refined. We have enough women of fame and fortune; we need more women of faith. We have enough greed; we need more goodness. CANNERY ASSIGNMENT

Tuesday, June 18. Eight volunteers are needed to can chili during our shifts for the day.

Please arrive 10 minutes early and plan to stay for your entire 3 1/2 hour shift. 
All volunteers must be at least 16 years old.
Please wear clean work clothes, no sandals, and leave all jewelry at home. 
There will be surplus product for sale. The cannery will give you more information of what is available the day of your shift.

• Brighton, Blake and Aprylia are doing so well! It was fun to see them out on the Sunday Stroll last night!!! Another week of meals will help Marray continue to get back on her feet.
• Amanda Forsythe needs your prayers. She is suffering from another bout of pneumonia and all the joys that antibiotics do to you too - the 6th time in one year.
• Michelle's recovery continues. She was blessed to have her daughter, Amy, and her family here to visit for graduation last week.

Dear Sisters,

I believe in, and have gratitude for the Lord's promise "I will go before your face. I will be on your right hand and on your left,...my Spirit shall be in your heart, and mine angels round about you, to bear you up." • Michelle is hoping to be home on Tuesday. Some dear High Priests in the ward fixed her front step and built a ramp to help her get into her home easily until she is stronger.
• Davina continues her recovery and loves visits.
• Marray and her 3 tiny blessings, Brighton, Blake, and Aprylia Chase are all home and doing well. Meals every other night will help her get back on her feet, establish a routine and get this all figured out. Please remember to keep your visits very brief when dropping off meals. There will be time when the babies are a little older and Marray is a little stronger to meet them. Brandon will be home this week to help her. He has a flag system set-up to let me know when to send in help ;-)

We had a lovely lesson yesterday. I had a little bit of a difficult time leading the closing - hearing you sing such a lovely prayer was very moving. I am touched by your strength, your faith, and your fearlessness. I love you all!!!
