Each time I
put on an apron, my uniform, I am reminded of my dear mother and the lessons I
learned from her.
She taught me
that aprons not only protect your clothes, but can also be used by gathering up
the hem in your hands to carry lots of stuff from one room to another, to dust
a piano as you walk by, to wipe a child’s runny nose, to fan yourself as you
work or to dab the sweat from your brow.
She was
always home when I got home from school with her apron on fixing dinner or
sewing something beautiful. I knew she loved making home a place where we love
to be.
